1961' s " Time Further Out, " expands on some of The Dave Brubeck Quartet' s time signature- defying feats of it' s predecessor, 1959' s " Time Out". This exceptional sequel features some really strong compositions presented in uniquely tuneful and surprising ways, ranging from spritely and breezy ( " Slow And Easy" ), to pounding and terse ( " Far More Drums, " ).
With Brubeck on piano, Paul Desmond on alto sax, bassist Eugene Wright, and drummer Joe Morello, the classic LP stayed on the charts for more than 3 years. At its peak in the early 1960s, the Brubeck Quartet was releasing as many as four albums a year.
Apart from the " College" and the " Time" series, Brubeck recorded four LPs featuring his compositions based on the group' s travels, and the local music they encountered.
